Apollo Tyres Ltd's board has approved unaudited consolidated financial results for the second quarter and first half of the 2026-27 financial year, showing double-digit revenue growth in both periods, a 13% increase in quarterly net profit and the appointment of a new chief financial officer.
Second-quarter results
For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, revenue from operations on a consolidated basis reached Rs 7,968 crores, up 17% from Rs 6,831 crores in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Operating profit for the quarter was Rs 855 crores, and net profit rose 13% to Rs 292 crores from Rs 258 crores a year earlier.
The company said the quarterly net profit includes an estimated pre-tax restructuring cost of Rs 26 crores, which it disclosed as an exceptional item.
First-half performance
For the six months from April to September 2026, consolidated revenue from operations was Rs 15,366 crores, an increase of 15% over Rs 13,392 crores in the corresponding period of the previous year. Operating profit for the half year was Rs 1,723 crores, while net profit was Rs 641 crores against Rs 271 crores a year earlier. The half-year net profit also includes the Rs 26 crores estimated pre-tax restructuring cost treated as an exceptional item.
The second quarter accounted for slightly more than half of the half-year revenue. Apollo said its Indian operations carried their strong revenue growth momentum into the second quarter, which the company attributed to the effectiveness of its growth initiatives.
Chairman's comments
Chairman Onkar Kanwar said growth across categories in India had been supported by the company's sustained rural expansion efforts and its strategic association with cricket. He added that new product launches in the commercial vehicle segment in India had strengthened performance during the past quarter.
Kanwar also flagged external pressure, saying geopolitical tensions in West Asia remain a headwind that has resulted in elevated input costs and supply chain disruptions.
New finance chief
The board approved the appointment of Ravi Kumar Shingari as chief financial officer with effect from November 4, 2026. Shingari joined Apollo Tyres in 2018 as group head, finance, and has held responsibilities covering budgeting, accounts and investor relations; more recently he was given additional responsibility for legal.
Before joining Apollo Tyres, he spent more than 16 years at KPMG, where his last assignment was partner, tax and regulatory. He is a chartered accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. In the CFO role he will report directly to Neeraj Kanwar, vice chairman and managing director.
