Philippine Airlines (PAL) has selected IBS Software’s cloud-based iCargo platform to replace its current cargo management system. The implementation is intended to cover both domestic and international cargo operations.

According to the announcement, iCargo will support PAL’s broader modernisation programme and a range of business functions. For international shipments, the platform is designed to handle requirements such as customs reporting, settlement of duties and taxes, and regulatory compliance. IBS Software said iCargo already serves carriers with similar domestic and international demands, offering flexibility, scale and capability to manage both.

PAL expects the transition to address operational requirements including system performance and data analytics. The company said iCargo should enable faster shipment processing, greater reliability and end-to-end shipment visibility, while reducing manual intervention and supporting more efficient processes.

Jason Siy, vice president for cargo business at Philippine Airlines, described the initiative as an important step in modernising the carrier’s cargo business. He said that as PAL grows across its domestic and international network, it needs a system that improves visibility and operational efficiency and helps deliver a better customer experience. Siy added that PAL sees iCargo as a key enabler of its long-term cargo transformation strategy and its ambition to build a stronger cargo business.
